Other Ways to Give
No matter how you donate, we are grateful for your support!
Planned Giving
A planned gift is a meaningful way to support our ongoing work in Guatemala, ensuring we can continue serving those in need for years to come. It also provides an opportunity to honor or remember someone who has made a lasting impact on your life.
Planned giving involves making a donation as part of your overall financial, and philanthropic goals while maximizing tax benefits and ensuring a lasting legacy.
Ways to Make a Planned Gift
-
Donate an outright gift of cash, stock, or real estate to GVH
-
Name GVH as a beneficiary in your will
-
Establish a Charitable Gift Annuity and receive payments for life
-
Donate a life insurance policy or retirement plan
Naming Opportunities
A powerful way to make a lasting impact is by establishing a named fund in honor or memory of a loved one or someone who has inspired you. For example, you can create a named fund to support healthcare initiatives in memory of a loved on who was passionate about medicine or in honor of a mentor who dedicated their life to helping others.
Planned Giving Options
-
Wills and Bequests- A charitable bequest is an official statement in a will, trust, or an estate plan that designates a gift to a special charity. Bequests are one of the easiest and most flexible ways you can leave a gift to GVH. You can select a percentage of your estate or set a specific amount. This means you can divide your funds between family and charities of your choice.
-
Beneficiary Designations- GVH can be named as the beneficiary of one of your assets such as IRAs, 401ks, and other retirement plans and life insurance policies. This can also reduce your estate taxes.
How can GVH help with this process?
-
If you would like to remember GVH in your will- we can provide you with the legal language.
-
To make a stock gift and save on taxes- you can direct your broker to transfer funds directly to our brokerage account.
-
For insurances (IRA, 401k, Annuity, life insurance policy)- you would name Guatemala Village Health as a beneficiary for either a percentage or set amount.
-
To create an endowed or named fund- let's talk directly and set it up so it honors your loved ones.
-
You can establish a charitable gift annuity through your financial planner or advisor.
