The root causes of poverty in the villages of Guatemala are lack of education and lack of resources.  GVH works to improve education so people can make the most of the resources at hand.

  • Teach sanitation, nutrition, and resource use.

Local Health worker Training:

  • Midwives learn about prenatal care, crisis management, and postpartum care.

  • Exploring a scholarship program to give selected students who are in the top of their 6th grade class, the opportunity to continue to attend school beyond the sixth grade.

Student Volunteers from the US:

  • We bring medical doctors in residency training into the villages to broaden their experiences for their future work as doctors.
