Access to contraception for family planning

Access to contraception is critically important as it empowers women (and their partners) to make informed choices about their reproductive health, including the timing and spacing of pregnancies. Pregnancy planning has numerous benefits, including better maternal and child health outcomes, as women can avoid pregnancies that are too closely spaced or occur at too young or too old an age, reducing the risk to mom and baby. Moreover, access to contraception allows women to pursue education, join the workforce, and participate more fully in their communities, contributing to poverty reduction and economic development.
