Healthcare

In Guatemala, chronic child malnutrition is the highest in the Western hemisphere. Often exceeding 80% of the population, it leads to stunted growth and poor brain development.

We hold clinics each team trip to:

  • Provide the detection, treatment, and prevention of disease to promote health.

  • Treat patients for both acute and chronic diseases.

  • Provide fluoride varnish to the children every six months.

  • Distribute medications as needed.

And we provide training to:

  • Health workers in every village.

  • Midwives using internationally-recognized materials.

  • Teach the value of vitamins and proper nutrition.

Our Mission

To improve individual and village health in rural Guatemala through education, empowerment of local leaders,
and development of local health providers.
