Healthy Schools

Educating students about healthy living  is crucial to a community's health, as it can provide increased understanding of complex issues critical to wellbeing to the next generation.

We work to improve children's health in schools by:

  • Distributing toothbrushes and toothpaste, providing dental care and nutritious snacks in schools.

  • Providing a healthy school environment including clean water and adequate sanitation facilities to decrease the frequency of illness.

  • Promoting good health through the education of nutrition and disease prevention

  • Educating on everything from hygiene to puberty

  • Supervising composting toilets and eco-filters while supporting teachers in other health projects

  • Screening to identify children with health needs, and triage in acute situations

  • Providing deworming every 6 months.

Our Mission

To improve individual and village health in rural Guatemala through education, empowerment of local leaders,
and development of local health providers.
