Nutrition & Permaculture
The nutrition and permaculture program addresses the chronic malnutrition in Guatemala and environmental degradation in Mayan communities by fusing ancestral agricultural wisdom with modern permaculture practices.

Addressing chronic malnutrition:
-
The implementation of sustainable farming methods allow for the increased cultivation of nutritious food.
-
Nutrition classes provide the villages with the education and resources to create healthy meals to aid in decreasing malnutrition.
Addressing ecosystem health:
-
The introduction of composting, intercropping, and water-saving practices began improving soil and reversing erosion trends in targeted areas.
-
Over 45 students & 64 families have been trained, fostering intergenerational transfer of ecological knowledge.
